DIY Wedding Edition – Save Money and Add Personality to Your Wedding Day

When it comes to weddings and saving money, we are totally here for it! A great way to save money on your wedding, but to ensure your have lots of personal touches, is to DIY as many projects as you can! Of course, we recommend doing this as far out before your wedding as possible to take away extra stress close to the day but making different signs and table numbers is a great way to save money on not having to buy these things or rent them.

Our saving grace for our weddings was the Cricut! This allowed us to have full design control on our personal touches to our weddings. We were able to pick the fonts and designs, and keep them constant throughout our details. We used the Cricut for a variety of things. Here is a few:

Welcome Signs

Bar Signs (His and her signature cocktails)

Table Numbers

Seating Charts

Welcome Bag Labels

Cake Toppers

Guest Book

Remember to craft things for your events prior to your big day as well! We made cups and wine glasses for our bachelorette party and its a great option for making signs and decorations for your Bridal Shower.

In addition to the Cricut, our hidden gem for wedding decorations is Dollar Tree. You can find frames you can use for any signs and table numbers for your DIY projects. Another favorite from Dollar Tree is their vases! These work great in center pieces. This is also a great way to save on floral and mix and match your center pieces. Spray paint can go a long way with cool vases or items you find that don’t necessarily go with your colors or wedding theme. We spent many hours scrolling Pinterest to find ideas for our weddings but were often shocked at the price tag that came with many items we liked. We then shifted our mindset from trying to buy these items we like, to making them! Saving us a lot of money and being able to really personalize our wedding touches. DIY as much as possible and if you don’t have a Cricut, search for a friend who does. Bribe them with some wine or dinner and get crafting!
