How Brides Can Feel Their Best on Their Wedding Day

In honor of May being National Physical Fitness Month, we sat down with local fitness trainer and guru, Angela, from Fitness by Angela to get her take on how brides can feel their best for their wedding day. She started training Ashley back in June of 2020 and is motivating and keeping her accountable to reach her fitness goals in time for her wedding this fall.

MEW: Tell us about Fitness by Angela.

Angela: As a personal trainer, I aim to have the most positive impact I can on the lives of the people I work with. The benefits of my training go beyond just becoming stronger and hitting body-focused goals. I help people become the happiest, healthiest version of themselves by providing them with a safe, judgment-free environment they can thrive in. I go past the standard personal trainer role by not only helping people look the best they ever have but also helping them improve their lifestyle, confidence, mental health, and more!

MEW: What is the goal for brides going through your training programs?

Angela: My goal is for these brides to feel confident and beautiful in their gowns on one of the most important days of their lives!

MEW: What are the top challenges brides face when they are getting in shape?

Angela: I would have to say diet and time are the two biggest challenges. Cutting back on the carbs and sweets when stressing out can be tough, as well as finding the time to get in a workout or prepare healthy meals.

MEW: How is your fitness program helping brides for their big day?

Angela: My training offers a healthy way for brides to feel fit and beautiful on their wedding day. During such a demanding time, it can be hard to stay motivated and put time into achieving goals and taking care of yourself outside of wedding planning. My training will allow brides to relieve stress while we work towards helping her feel as beautiful as she possibly can on her wedding day. This will help the bride feel better in all aspects of her life, not just her body.

MEW: If a bride does not have a ton of time to work out, what can she do to stay healthy and fit?

Angela: Be conscious of what you’re eating and be active! It’s as simple as that.

MEW: What advice do you have for keeping a bride motivated to maintain her workout?

Angela: Start very small and continue to build. Getting on these fad diets and going working out super hard won’t be sustainable. Finding a group of people/workout buddy to reach your goals with is also another great way to stay motivated and hold yourself accountable.

MEW: How soon leading up to her wedding should a bride begin working out or modifying eating habits (we do not like the word diet!)?

Angela: It depends on the brides goals but I would say it’s best to start these healthy habits 6 months before the big day!

MEW: What is the best way for local Metro Detroit Brides to find you?

Angela: Brides can follow me on Instagram @FitnessbyAngela and feel free to message me to schedule your training session.

We also teamed up with Angela to create a bridal work out. Check out her work out video above and be sure to tag us on Instagram and use #MEWBrides to show off your strength! You can share it with other brides and even your bridesmaids if y’all want to team up to work out together – we are all about working out with others! Our goal is to use fitness as an outlet to release stress, create healthy habits, and feel confident in our own skin!
