And just like that… YOUR WEDDING IS HERE!
When the big day finally arrives, the last thing you want to worry about on the morning of your wedding day is people not knowing where to be or what to do, and then calling or texting you for answers! We recommend having two sets of timelines for your special day.
The first being a simple day of timeline, which is a great tool to give to bridesmaids/groomsmen/family, and anyone involved in the getting ready process the morning or week of your wedding. This timeline outlines the major steps that your bridal party and family will go through on your day to make sure they know where to be. A good way to ensure everyone will have this timeline with them the day-of is to create it digitally and send it to the bridal party and family on their phones. That way they’re able to quickly reference it if needed, because let’s be honest… who won’t have their phone on them?!
Top categories to consider in your timeline include:
- When/where to arrive
- What to bring with you (Shoes/Socks/Dress/Jewelry)
- What will be provided (Food/Ties/Hair/Makeup)
- Who to contact for questions (Maid of Honor/Best Man)
- General outline of what the day will look like
The second timeline we recommend is a timeline for your vendors. If you are using a day of coordinator, your coordinator will help build a timeline with you and all your vendors, Photographer/Videographer/DJ/Bakery/Floral, etc. This will ensure that your vendors are arriving at the correct time and in the correct order. Remember to consider if you are having flowers on your cake, speak to both your florist and bakery to see who will place the flowers on the cake. This can help you determine if your cake needs to arrive first, or if your flowers do.
