Top Tips and Ideas to Make Your Wedding Favors Memorable

So! Now that you’ve decided wedding favors are a special touch you want to add to your big day, time to decide what to do for your favors!

There are many different favor ideas out there that fit just about every budget and wedding theme. We will let you know a few of our favorites, but we also have some tips to keep in mind when planning favors for your wedding.

Tip #1 – Your wedding favor doesn’t have to be given to guests at their seat or during the reception. If you’re having an outdoor wedding in the summer, you could do personal paper or fabric fans as a favor for guests and give them out prior to your ceremony, or at the start of your reception. The same goes for fall/winter weddings when the weather may be colder. You could do blankets for your guests to stay warm during your ceremony if it is taking place outdoors.

Tip #2 – You can make your dessert part of your favors! In fact, you can make a whole dessert table if you’d like. A cute idea we’ve seen done at weddings is having to-go boxes/bags by the dessert table for guests to pick their favorites. One thing to keep in mind with this is to make sure you plan before (weeks before your wedding) where these desserts will be coming from. If you plan to purchase them, or have them made, make sure you don’t take on too much stress the week of your wedding. Assign this task to aunts/friends to handle.

Depending on your taste and the theme of your wedding, the favor options are endless! Some of our favorites are as follows:

If you love plants as much as some of us do, you can incorporate this into your theme by doing bags with flower seeds or individual succulents with a cute note saying, “Let Love Grow”.

If you’re a charcuterie board lover much like Shannon is, you could do individual cheeseboards and knives for your wedding favor! Some favors like this, that can tend to be pricy or a lot of work, are easier to do when your guest list is smaller.

If you and your fiancé love to travel as much as Ashley and hers do, you could also do luggage tags for your favor that double as nametags and a way for guests to find their seat at your wedding.

If you’re having an outdoor wedding with canned or bottled beverages, koozies are an awesome favor to give guests that can be used all night to help keep drinks cool.

And as mentioned above, food makes an awesome wedding favor. You could do a late-night snack like pizza or tacos, or give away a dessert, or popcorn, or really anything you and your significant other like to munch on. Make sure if you go with food as your favor, you check with your venue to make sure there is no restrictions on doing so. Some venues require food to come from a license distributor so homemade sweets are not allowed.

Wedding favors can be a huge hit if there is room in your budget for them. These are a few of our favorites we’ve seen or what we have planned for our weddings. Get creative with your favors and keep them personal!
