Your wedding day is going to be a long day and you will be on your feet for most of it. Having the right shoes for your day is something you should think about whether you will actually see them or not. And who doesn’t love shoes anyway?! Here’s our insight to help you pick the right pair(s) of shoes!
Getting Ready
You definitely want to be comfy! You can buy some cute slippers or sandals to wear while you and your bridal party are getting ready. This is also a cute idea of what to give your bridal party as a day of gift.
Ceremony and Photos
This is when you can bust out your heels and dress up! Be mindful of how long your ceremony will be and the length of your aisle. Will you be walking down a flight of stairs to get to the altar? If so, you might want to prepare your dad you’ll have a death grip on his arm! If you are planning to have an outdoor ceremony, specifically in a grass area, avoid spike heels. Instead, you can select a chunky heel, wedge, flats, or purchase spike heel protectors.
Keep in mind depending on the poses you want in your photos; your shoes may be visible. It is common for photographers to use the bride’s shoes in a shot that includes rings or her bouquet. If you plan to take photos outdoors, be sure to take all indoor photos first. Your white shoes might end up dirty if your outdoor photos are in the woods or a grassy area.
Reception and Afterparty
Your reception is the time for your most comfortable shoes since you will be dancing and walking around visiting with guests. Ashley was gifted these adorable and super comfy TOMS for her reception.
